Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 September 2026  ·  Last updated: 19 September 2026

In short:We are a studio that works with live visuals and drama-based co-creation. Almost everything we hold about you comes from an enquiry you sent us yourself. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you. This page sets out the detail — read just the "In short" line under each heading, or the full text.

1. Who we are

In short:Throughout this policy, "we" means AnthroFerry.

This policy is issued by AnthroFerry ("we", "us"). We describe our services and receive enquiries through https://anthroferry.com/. For the purposes of this policy we are the handler of your personal information under China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), and the controller under the EU/UK GDPR.

How to reach us

  • Email: service@anthroferry.com
  • Project contact: andrea.feng@anthroferry.com
  • Phone / WhatsApp: +86 185-1462-0998
  • Website: https://anthroferry.com/

2. What this policy covers

In short:This website, and what we hold because you contacted us or worked with us — not other people's websites.

This policy applies to how we handle your personal information when:

  • you visit this website;
  • you contact us through the website form, email, phone or WhatsApp;
  • we plan and deliver a project for you.

This website may link to third-party sites or services, such as social platforms and mapping services. Those providers have their own privacy policies. We do not control them, and we recommend you read them before use.

3. What we collect

In short:Mostly the name, email and message you type in yourself — plus photographs and video if you take part in an event we are working on.

3.1 Information you give us

When you enquire through our website form or by email, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • the content of your message (for example the type of event, date, location, scale and budget range);
  • any further information you choose to give us in later correspondence (such as a phone number, WeChat or WhatsApp handle, company name or job title).

Legal basis: necessary to take steps towards, or to perform, a contract with you; or your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b); PIPL Art. 13(1)(2)).

3.2 Information arising from a project

When you commission us to deliver a service, we may handle the following in order to do the work:

  • event agendas, venue details and participant lists (which may include names, job titles and organisations);
  • background material, scripts, images and brand assets you provide to us;
  • stories, scenarios and character material connected to the theme of the event.

This information is normally supplied by you. Please make sure you are entitled to share it before you do so, particularly where it contains another person's personal information.

3.3 Photography, video and recording on site

This section follows directly from what we do — please read it with care.

Our work includes live visual recording, live drawing, facilitated drama and time-lapse film. In order to deliver the service and to show what we have made, we may:

  • take photographs on site;
  • record video and time-lapse footage;
  • retain the finished drawings and visual records.

We will not use any footage in which an individual is identifiable for any public purpose — our website case studies, social media, or presentation material — without the prior written consent of the event organiser. We obtain that consent in writing before a project begins, and we respect the organiser's instructions about who may appear and which material must stay private.

If you are taking part in an event and would rather not be filmed or photographed, please tell a member of our team on the day, or ask the event organiser to let us know. We will cooperate.

3.4 Information collected automatically

When you visit this website our server keeps a standard technical log recording your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the time of access, the pages you viewed and the referring link. This is used to keep the site running properly and to prevent abuse.

3.5 What we do not collect

  • We do not ask you to create an account. This website has no public registration.
  • We do not collect payment card details. Fees are settled under a separately signed contract.
  • We do not collect the categories of sensitive personal information defined by PIPL — biometric data, health data, financial accounts, location tracking, or the data of children under 14. Where a project genuinely requires such information, we will ask for your separate consent first.
  • This website has no public comment area, so we do not collect information in that way.

4. How we use it

In short:To reply to you, to do your project, and to show what we have made. Those three things.
PurposeWhat it meansLegal basis
Answering enquiriesReplying to you, quoting, arranging a conversationSteps towards, or performance of, a contract
Delivering projectsPlanning, running and delivering the service, including necessary on-site recordingPerformance of a contract

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing email — unless you have clearly opted in to a subscription.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

In short:We use no tracking cookies. The site sets only the few WordPress needs, and most of those only when an administrator signs in.

This website runs on WordPress. Here is what actually happens with cookies.

Cookies the website sets itself

  • When one of our administrators signs in to the site's dashboard, cookies are set to keep them signed in and to remember display preferences. These last up to 14 days.
  • A temporary security cookie is set on form submission. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Content loaded from third parties

  • Fonts. Page fonts are served by Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Loading a page means your browser makes a request to Google, and Google may receive your IP address.
  • Maps. Our contact page embeds Google Maps. When you open that page, Google receives your IP address and browser information and may set its own cookies. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

What we do not use

  • We use no advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.
  • This website currently has no analytics tool installed (for example Google Analytics or Baidu Tongji). We therefore do not carry out traffic analysis or track individual browsing behaviour.

You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser settings. Disabling some cookies will not affect your ability to read the main content of this site.

6. Who we share it with

In short:We do not sell your information. We pass it to suppliers only where we have to — hosting, email.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information for profit. We share it only as follows.

Service providers (acting on our instructions as processors):

  • our website hosting and server provider;
  • our email provider;
  • messaging providers (for example WhatsApp / Meta, and WeChat).

Legal requirements. Where the law requires it, or a court or public authority makes a lawful request, we will provide the information required and will tell you where the law allows us to.

Business changes. If we merge, are acquired, or transfer assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to remain bound by this policy.

7. International transfers

In short:Our clients are often in several countries, so information may cross borders — we put legal safeguards in place when it does.

Our team operates in China, while our clients may be elsewhere. To deliver our services, your information may be transferred to and processed outside your own country or region, including in China. When we transfer information across borders we:

  • follow a route permitted by PIPL Art. 38 — a security assessment, standard contractual clauses, or your separate consent;
  • for transfers out of the European Economic Area, rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or another lawful mechanism under GDPR Arts. 44–49, carrying out a transfer impact assessment where required;
  • require recipients to apply a level of protection equivalent to that required where the information came from.

If you would like to know which mechanism applies to your information, contact us using the details in section 1.

8. How long we keep it

In short:Enquiries for two years, project material for as long as the contract and tax rules require — then it goes.
Type of informationRetention period
Enquiries that did not lead to a project24 months from the last contact
Project delivery material (including original on-site footage and photographs)36 months after the contract ends, or the period set out in the contract
Public use of footage in which an individual is identifiableAs long as the written consent remains valid; public use stops if consent is withdrawn
Financial and contractual recordsAs required by Chinese tax and accounting law (generally not less than 10 years)
Server access logsGenerally 6 months

Once these periods pass we delete the information or anonymise it so that it can no longer be linked to an individual.

9. How we protect it

In short:We take sensible security measures — and we will say plainly that no system is absolutely secure.

Our measures include access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS), regular backups, and granting access only on a least-privilege basis. The site's dashboard is limited to authorised staff.

Please understand, however, that no transmission or storage of data over the internet is absolutely secure. If a personal data breach, alteration or loss occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities promptly, as the law requires.

10. Your rights

In short:You can ask us what we hold, change it, delete it, or stop using it — any time. One email is enough.

Under PIPL and the GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • To know and to access — to be told how we handle your information and to receive a copy;
  • To correct — to have inaccurate or incomplete information put right;
  • To erase — to have your information deleted in the circumstances the law provides;
  • To withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;
  • To restrict or object — to ask us to limit processing, or to object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
  • To portability — to receive your information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or to have it sent to a third party you name;
  • To an explanation — to ask us to explain our personal information handling rules;
  • To complain — to lodge a complaint with the authorities responsible for personal information protection.

How to exercise them: email service@anthroferry.com. We will respond within 30 days (within one month under the GDPR, which may be extended as the law allows). To protect your information we may first need to verify your identity.

11. Children

In short:This site is for businesses and professionals, not children, and we do not knowingly collect children's information.

This website is intended for businesses and professionals, not for minors. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of children under 14.

Where a project involves minors — a family workshop, for example — we will obtain consent from a parent or guardian separately. If you believe we have inadvertently collected a child's personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

In short:If we change anything, we update the date at the top of this page.

We may revise this policy from time to time. Where a change is significant we will publish the updated version on this page and amend the "last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use this website, or to work with us, after a change takes effect means you have seen the updated policy.

13. Contact us

In short:A question, a request, a complaint — come straight to us.

For any question, request or complaint about this policy, please contact:

  • AnthroFerry
  • Email: service@anthroferry.com
  • Project contact: andrea.feng@anthroferry.com
  • Phone / WhatsApp: +86 185-1462-0998

If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in mainland China, you may complain to the authorities responsible for personal information protection, including those in the cyberspace, telecommunications, public security and market regulation departments.
